Curriculum Vitae

Mr. Samis is a partner in the firm’s St. Petersburg, Florida office. He has handled over 200 appeals, including cases in the Florida Supreme Court, all five Florida District Courts of Appeal, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit. His practice also includes a wide range of insurance-related matters, including coverage, extra-contractual exposure, and first-party and third party defense at the pre-litigation, trial and appellate levels. He has also provided counsel in the sports and entertainment industries and served as an adjunct professor of sports and entertainment law at Stetson University College of Law.

Mr. Samis also provides support for outside trial counsel to ensure proper preservation of appellate issues and acts as a consultant on legislative issues and policy drafting. He has drafted and presented seminar materials on numerous legal topics and has been a featured speaker for both professional and business organizations.

In keeping with the firm’s commitment to be good citizens as well as good lawyers, Mr. Samis is involved with several charitable organizations in the Tampa Bay area.  He is currently a trustee and vice president of the Community Law Program, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing free legal services to those in need, and  provides volunteer services and support to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, the Southern Poverty Law Center, and  Southeast Guide Dogs.
